Ocean Explorers

Summer Kids Camp

Santa Barbara’s premier ocean kids camp

The Ocean Explorers programs were originated with conservation, education and exploration in mind. Our intention is to serve as a resource for youth to become more connected to the ocean.

The Ocean Explorers Summer Kids Camp is a collaboration with Paddle Sports Center & Save the Mermaids. Each week will focus on ocean sports and marine education topics that directly correlate to our local marine environment. Daily activities include a variation of kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, boogie-boarding, surfing, body surfing, snorkeling, beach play, beach cleanups and ocean education.

By learning sports that help connect to the ocean, Ocean Explorers will build their confidence in the water and have a unique perspective to view marine life. Our goal is to facilitate a fun experience that fosters awareness of ocean health for the youth of Santa Barbara area. Scholarships available through Save the Mermaids.

All counselors are CPR, First-Aid Certified, and have completed our internal Ocean Risk Management Program (OMRP).  Most hold higher medical training. PSC is a certified Academy of Surfing Instructors (ASI) SUP School.

“I enjoyed going to ocean camp because it helped me grow my confidence in the water and my skills paddle boarding. I had never even been kayaking or boarding before and didn’t want to do it. But now I love kayaking and paddle boarding!” -Citlalli 13
